Switching from Toggl: questions

How do I switch from Toggl to TempusLog?

Create a free TempusLog account, open Settings, choose Import from another tool, pick Toggl Track and paste your Toggl API token from Profile settings. Check the preview and start: the import runs in the background and emails you when it is done.

What comes over from Toggl Track?

Projects, clients, tasks, tags, people and every time entry. Deactivated people and invites nobody accepted come in as inactive, so old reports still add up. Project rates are saved for the paid Company plan.

How long does a Toggl import take?

Toggl limits how many API requests an app can make each hour. On Toggl's free plan the limit is small, so a long history imports in hourly batches; paid Toggl plans go faster. It finishes on its own in the background.

Can I import from the new Toggl (Toggl Focus)?

Not yet. Toggl Focus has no public API, so no tool can import from it. Toggl Track workspaces import fully.

Is TempusLog really free?

Yes. Timer, calendar, reports with CSV and PDF export, imports, and unlimited people and projects are free for any team size. A paid Company plan later adds billable rates, approvals and invoices; nothing that is free today moves to it.

Do my teammates get an email when I import?

No. People from Toggl are added to your team without an invite, and their time shows up right away. You invite them from Team when you are ready, and their imported time becomes theirs when they join.

Can I run the import more than once?

Yes. A second run adds only what is new, so you can import once to try TempusLog and again on the day you switch. Nothing gets duplicated.
