Switching from Harvest: questions

How do I switch from Harvest to TempusLog?

Create a free TempusLog account, open Settings, choose Import from another tool, pick Harvest and paste a personal access token from id.getharvest.com/developers. Check the preview and start: the import runs in the background and emails you when it is done.

What comes over from Harvest?

Projects, clients, tasks, people and every time entry. Entries keep their hours and date, plus start and end times if your Harvest account tracks them. Harvest has no tags. Rates are saved for the paid Company plan.

Do I need my Harvest Account ID?

No. Paste the token and TempusLog lists the Harvest accounts it can read. If you have several, you pick one.

Can I still send invoices after switching from Harvest?

Not from TempusLog yet: invoices come with the paid Company plan. Until then, export a report to CSV or PDF and use it in your invoicing tool.

Is TempusLog really free?

Yes. Timer, calendar, reports with CSV and PDF export, imports, and unlimited people and projects are free for any team size. A paid Company plan later adds billable rates, approvals and invoices; nothing that is free today moves to it.

Do my teammates get an email when I import?

No. People from Harvest are added to your team without an invite, and their time shows up right away. You invite them from Team when you are ready, and their imported time becomes theirs when they join.

Can I run the import more than once?

Yes. A second run adds only what is new, so you can import once to try TempusLog and again on the day you switch. Nothing gets duplicated.
